Mocha Trading — How Perpetual Contracts Work
Explore Mochatrade leveraged perpetual trading, long and short positions, margin, funding, liquidation and risk management.
What is Mocha Trading?
The term Mocha Trading is used for the Mochatrade trading experience, which public materials describe around leveraged perpetual contracts referencing US stock prices and other markets. Contract availability and actual features can differ by product.
A perpetual future does not have a specified expiration date in the same way as a conventional dated future. It is still a derivative with collateral and liquidation rules.
Margin and leverage mechanics
Margin is collateral used to open or maintain a leveraged position. For example, 10x leverage creates approximately ten times the exposure relative to posted collateral before fees. This numerical example is educational and is not a recommended trading position.
Liquidation can occur if account equity falls below the maintenance requirement. Trading fees, funding charges and slippage can accelerate losses.
Long and short positions
Long positions seek to profit from price increases; short positions from decreases. Both have market and operational risk, and the amount of risk depends on leverage and contract design.
The displayed price of a tokenized stock perpetual is not proof of share ownership. Read the mark-price and index-price methodology.
Position monitoring and exits
Review the potential liquidation price and the order types available before entering a trade. Stop orders do not always guarantee a particular exit price in fast markets.
The search phrases Mochatrade Trading, Mocha Trading App, Mocha Trade Leverage and Mochatrade Perpetual Futures refer to these related product mechanics.
